The thick BPA free silicone seal ring achieves a better seal, provides a shelf life of up to 18 months.

Problems to be noted when sealing

Proper Tightness

  • Using just your fingers, tighten bands down evenly and firmly just until a point of resistance is met – fingertip tight.
  • Do not over tighten bands by using the full strength of your hand. Over tightening bands can prevent air from venting out of the jars, resulting in buckled lids or seal failure.

Correct Headspace

  • If too much headspace is allowed, there will not be enough processing time to drive all the air out of the jar. Over time, jars may become unsealed.
  • If too little headspace is allowed the food may expand and bubble out. The bubbling food may leave a deposit on the rim of the jar or the seal of the lid and prevent the jar from sealing properly.

Do Not Use Metal Utensils

  • Removal of air bubbles is a necessary step in the sealing process, and using metal utensils will scratch the inside of the jar and shorten its life of the jar.
  • Therefore, it is recommended that you use plastic or wood utensils.

Gentle Reminder

To improve the success rate of sealing, please consult the relevant information and follow the correct steps strictly !

  • Proper tightness, over tightening bands can prevent air from venting out of the jars, resulting in buckled lids or seal failure.
  • Correct headspace, too much or too little headspace will cause the jar to fail to seal.
  • After successful sealing, please wipe the lid with a dry towel to prevent the jar from rusting in a humid environment.

Choose the Right Sealing Method

Water Bath Canning

Fruits, juices, jams, salsas, most tomatoes, pickles, chutneys, sauces, vinegars, and condiments are all items that are safe to preserve using the water bath canning method. Because these common foods contain large amounts of acid or have recipes that contain the correct acid balance.

Pressure Canning

Canning low-acid foods like poultry, seafood, and most vegetables (except tomatoes) require special attention. Because these foods lack the level of acidity needed to prevent spoilage, low-acid foods MUST be processed at a temperature of 240°F for the recipe-established time. Pressure canning is the only way to fresh preserve at those temperature levels.
