Features:
- Wild Bergamot Seeds Heirloom NON-GMO Perennial Fragrant, Delicious and Flavorful
- Keep moist, not letting the seeds dry out between watering. DO NOT cover the seeds with soil! **SOIL Temperature for Germination: 70F.
- The pretty plant — though not choosy as to where it grows — does prefer “wet feet” and partial shade. Water when the soil surface is dry to the touch.
- Pinch off the tops of the plants several times during the growing season to encourage branching and a bushier grow habit. When the roots fill the container (about 2 months) they are ready for planting in the garden.
- Plant the Wild Bergamot seedlings in a sunny, weed-free, well-drained soil, 20 – 30 inches a part. Water, if there are no rains. Wild Bergamot seeds can also be broadcast on a weed-free surface from January to mid-May in sunny locations. Irrigate regularly to keep herb seeds moist until germination, and continue to water seedlings during pro-longed dry periods.
Wild Bergamot (Lamiaceae Monarda Species: fistulosa menthifolia) Butterfly attracting premier! Bursting with lavender heads of flowers, this popular perennial wildflower puts on a beautiful show! Medium to tall in height, this plant looks great planted en masse, or with other meadow dwellers. Its sweetly aromatic foliage makes it even more desirable. A classic! Often used as a honey plant, medicinal plant, and garden ornamental. When harvested, Bergamot is excellent for potpourri and dried flower arrangements, it makes a great garnish in wine cups and fruit punch, adds zing to lemonade and apple jelly and can also be used to flavor salads. Height: 24 in to 48 inches. HOW TO GROW: Grows to 12-24 inches tall and wide. Trim plants back before flowering to stimulate a dense growth habit. Allow some of the flowers to produce and drop their seed, and the Marjoram patch will stay fresh and vigorous. To harvest, clip fresh leaves as needed throughout the growing season. For drying, cut stems with flower heads just before full flowering for the best flavor. Dry on wire racks in a cool, airy place. Pick off leaves and store in an airtight jar. *** Sow seeds indoors just on the surface of the soil. Keep moist, not letting the seeds dry out between watering. DO NOT cover the seeds with soil! *** **SOIL Temperature for Germination: 70F **Plant Spacing: 24 in to 36 inches. **Hardiness: Zones 3-9 **Sun Requirement: Full Sun to Part Shade **Days to Germination: 21-28 **Germination Rate: 94%
